               After she had been waiting and waiting and waiting.... At last, Mommy received a courtdate. It was for July 12th ... In the US they call that day 'Gotcha Day' because it is on that day that the baby receives her parents... Well, one can as well say that the parents receive their baby...

               Mommy was sure very happy and also very relieved because she had been worried all along. She was always afraid that something would prevent her to adopt me...

I must say that I can understand her worries.

When I think about all those people who could not adopt ME....

THOSE POOR UNFORTUNATE PEOPLE !!!!

               OK, so Mommy rang Sophie to tell her that, if there was no other unexpected delay, they should be leaving on July 9th... Sophie was not so sure of it because Mommy had already phoned her several times with the same kind of news and nothing had ever happened yet. Oncle Nick stroked his beard and said: 'Hmmmm... Hmmmm...' like someone who is a bit worried...

               But, eventually it was true and on July 9th they finally left Roissy airport with all their luggage and my stroller... They arrived in Moscow long after they should have because their flight took off late because at the airport the staff was completely taken by surprise when they discovered that in July, people are in holidays and they tend to travel more... Of course, such a thing is completely impossible to foresee... HA!

                When they arrived in Moscow, Sophie and Mommy were very sorry arg.gif (1027 octets) to be late because they could well see that they had missed the 9 pm flight to Novosibirsk, but Mikhail told them that it was no big deal because there was another flight that was leaving Moscow at 1 am...

                Sophie and Mommy went to the hotel Novotel, just opposite the airport to have a little snack and wait until it was time to check in... And, it is at this moment that Mommy realized that her visa was valid for a few days only, definitely not enough to do all there was to do in Russia for my adoption.... The least I can say is that it was not very clever of her... But she had been kept waiting for so long...

                Well, even now, she doesn't like to be reminded of it because she feels really silly... So, I won't dwell on it for too long...

.....For now....

Oh... Yes, of course, the visa was eventually extended for a few weeks to be on the safe side !
